Tragic Shooting Incident: Quavo’s Assistant Injured by Gunfire, Rapper Takeoff Killed

During the shooting incident that tragically claimed the life of Migos rapper Takeoff, Quavo’s assistant, Joshua ‘Wash’ Washington, 23, also sustained gunshot injuries and was rushed to the hospital. 

The 28-year-old rapper, Takeoff, was fatally shot around 2:30 a.m. on Tuesday, November 1, outside 810 Billiards & Bowling following a private party.

Wash, who is listed as Quavo’s assistant and operations management at QuavoHuncho Records on Instagram, was one of the two victims who suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were hospitalized.

Although the identities of the shooting victims have not been confirmed, it is reported that a 24-year-old female was also injured. 

Police in Houston confirmed that Takeoff’s death resulted from gunshot wounds to the head and torso, deemed a homicide. 

Authorities are urging the public to assist in identifying those responsible for the tragic incident and are particularly seeking to speak with the 40 party attendees who fled after the gunfire. At least two individuals are believed to have discharged firearms.  

Takeoff, also known as Kirsnick Khari Ball, was a member of the Grammy Award-nominated rap trio Migos, alongside his uncle Quavo and cousin Offset, hailing from suburban Atlanta. 

Police emphasized that Takeoff was highly respected, and there is no indication that he was involved in any criminal activity at the time of the shooting. 

Migos’ record label, Quality Control, expressed grief over Takeoff’s death in a statement on Instagram, denouncing senseless violence and its devastating impact. 

The tragic incident took place at a bowling alley located in a prominent Houston retail complex near upscale restaurants and a House of Blues, as well as in close proximity to a Four Seasons hotel.
